Print the Colours CMYK Can't

The Adelco 9 Colour DTF Printer adds four dedicated colour channels to the standard White + CMYK set. Saturated reds, oranges, greens and blues, the brand, sportswear and club colours that standard DTF prints flat or muddy, come out clean and vivid. Or choose the fluorescent ink set for neon effects no CMYK printer can produce.

Available as complete 60cm production lines with three or six Epson I3200-A1 print heads, an automatic powder shaker with recirculation, and an optional inline cutter for finished, contour-cut transfers.

Colour gamut of CMYK versus 9 colour CMYK plus ORGB DTF, with colour volume bars for CMYK, CMYK plus red and green, and CMYK plus ORGB

Extended Gamut or Fluorescent: Choose Your Ink Set

CMYK reproduces only around 55–60% of Pantone solid colours. On our hybrid systems, adding Red and Green channels gives around 30% more colour volume. The 9 colour extended-gamut set goes further: Orange and Blue are added on top of Red and Green, so all four of CMYK's weak zones are extended.

  • Extended gamut (White + CMYK + ORGB) – around 50% more colour volume than CMYK alone. Closer Pantone matches, fewer remakes and brighter photographic work.
  • Fluorescent (White + CMYK + fluorescent red, orange, yellow and green) – neon and hi-vis effects that look brighter than any process colour.
Adelco 9 colour DTF printers: 3 head model and 6 head model side by side

3 Head or 6 Head: Choose Your Production Level

Both models print 60cm film and ship as a complete line: printer plus powder shaker / dryer with automatic powder recirculation, in your choice of extended-gamut or fluorescent ink set.

  • 9 Colour – 3 Head: 3 × Epson I3200-A1 heads, up to 14m² per hour (4 pass). The ideal entry to 9 colour, for sampling, short runs and premium add-on work.
  • 9 Colour – 6 Head: 6 × Epson I3200-A1 heads, 15.6m² per hour (6 pass), on a high-precision all-aluminium frame. Built for production colour work every day.
DTF printer holiday mode control and automatic white ink shaker

Holiday Mode & White Ink Management

White ink is the most demanding ink in DTF. A continuous ink supply with white ink circulation, timed automatic stirring and holiday mode, which runs anti-settling circulation while the machine is idle, protect the nozzles over weekends and shutdowns and keep white output consistent.

DTF printer heat-bonded film splicing device and wide pinch rollers

Film Splicing & Precision Film Feed

A heat-bonding film splicing device joins a new roll to the old one without re-threading, cutting handling and film waste at every roll change. Wider pinch rollers keep feeding stable for tighter registration across the full 60cm width, and the aluminium-shaft press-type unwind loads easily with no air supply needed.

DTF printer heated ink dampers and tri-colour status light

Heated Ink Dampers & Smart Alerts

Heated dampers keep ink flowing consistently at low ambient temperatures, reducing waste and rework and saving ink and film. A tri-colour status light (standby, printing, alarm) and a redesigned low-ink alarm show machine status from across the room, so ink is topped up before a shortage interrupts a job.

Adelco automatic DTF powder shaker and its three-zone infrared curing section

Automatic Powder Shaker with Three-Zone Curing

Printed film moves straight into the powder shaker. Film and powder sensors automate start and stop, front and rear belt suction keeps the film flat, and a 5–8kg powder hopper runs roughly 4–8 hours between refills with a low-powder alarm. Excess powder is recovered automatically.

Curing runs across three infrared heating zones with variable-frequency control and an insulated top cover, using under 2.6kW once at temperature.

Multi-stage filter cartridges and built-in air purifier unit on a DTF powder shaker

Built-in Air Filtration

A stainless-steel purifier with pre-cooling and multi-stage filtration, using metal mesh, activated carbon and a high-performance filter, is built into the shaker for a cleaner, more comfortable working environment.

Adelco DTF cutter for inline print and cut DTF transfers

Inline Print & Cut Option

Link the 9 colour line directly to the Adelco DTF Cutter. Film goes from print, to powder, to cure, to contour cut in one continuous run, so every transfer comes off the line cut to shape and ready to press. No hand trimming, no guillotine, no second handling step.

  • Cutting speeds up to 600mm/s with detail down to 0.8mm
  • High-speed CCD camera registration and print-issue detection
  • Contour, kiss-cut, perforation and multi-layer cutting
  • One continuous footprint, one workflow, one operator

Frequently Asked Questions about 9 Colour DTF Printers

What is a 9 colour DTF printer?

A 9 colour DTF printer adds four extra colour channels to the standard White + CMYK set. Adelco offers two ink sets: Orange, Red, Green and Blue for an extended colour gamut, or fluorescent Red, Orange, Yellow and Green for neon effects.

How much wider is the colour gamut than CMYK?

The extended-gamut (ORGB) set gives around 50% more colour volume than CMYK alone, compared with around 30% for a 6 colour CMYK + Red and Green system. CMYK on its own reproduces roughly 55–60% of Pantone solid colours.

Can a 9 colour DTF printer print fluorescent or neon colours?

Yes. With the fluorescent ink set the printer adds fluorescent Red, Orange, Yellow and Green, producing neon and hi-vis effects that look brighter than any process colour and can't be imitated with CMYK.

What is the difference between the 3 head and 6 head models?

Both print 60cm film as a complete line with powder shaker and dryer. The 3 head model uses three Epson I3200-A1 heads and suits sampling, short runs and premium add-on work. The 6 head model uses six heads on an all-aluminium frame for daily production colour work.

How fast is the Adelco 9 Colour DTF Printer?

The 3 head model prints up to 14m² per hour at 4 pass (11m² at 6 pass, 8m² at 8 pass). The 6 head model prints 15.6m² per hour at 6 pass. Real output depends on image coverage, white ink density and pass mode.

Can the 9 colour DTF line print and cut inline?

Yes. The Inline Print & Cut option links the line to the Adelco DTF Cutter, so film is printed, powdered, cured and contour cut in one continuous run, with CCD camera registration and cutting speeds up to 600mm/s.

What RIP software does it use?

The system runs with the ColorGATE Digital Factory DTF RIP for colour-managed production, with an optional ColorGATE Contour Cutting Module that generates cut paths for print-and-cut work.

What power and site services are needed?

Both lines run on a 220V 50/60Hz single phase supply. The printer draws 1.4kW (3 head) or 2.2kW (6 head) and the shaker around 2.6kW once at temperature. The printer and shaker need no compressed air or water, and the shaker has built-in air filtration.

Do you provide installation and support in the UK?

Yes. Adelco installs, trains and supports its DTF systems from our base in Bordon, Hampshire, backed by our manufacturing and support team in Kunshan, China and a distributor network across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.

Which inks, film and powder should I use?

Adelco supplies the full DTF consumables programme, including pigment inks, PET transfer film and adhesive powder, matched to the 9 colour system. Using approved consumables keeps print quality consistent and protects your warranty.
